As you can see we are very busy

Well I was going to start with something like, “HI! I’d like to introduce myself as the new manager of the Eagles Club”, blah, blah, blah… But in reading the other messages from the Trustees, President, and Auxiliary, they’ve already done that for me!! Let me start by saying that I am so unbelievably excited to be the manager down here! It has been a very busy past month, and let me tell you, that this club is doing awesome! We have been very busy with our weekly activities; bingo, dart league, pool league, as well as Aerie and Auxiliary meetings. Come to a meeting sometime!! We have also been super busy with “extras”, such as benefits, fundraisers, banquets, and day-time meetings and workshops, which I am now catering. Call me for all of your catering needs, whether it be at the Eagles, or somewhere else!! I’m mobile. Other “festivities” include tons of cleaning, organizing, cleaning, and more cleaning! This place is lookin’ pretty spiffy!! I’ve been busy! Stop down sometime and check out the improvements. Many more to come!! I will elaborate a bit on myself, and who I am. Most of you know me I believe, in some form or another. My name is Taryn Hejlik (formerly Rux). Many know me as “Lillian’s Grand-daughter” or “Gary’s daughter”. I’m used to it. They are infamous I think!! I have lived in TRF all of my life, and have every intention of being buried here. I love this community, and can’t imagine living anywhere else. I have two of the best kids on the planet, Aron (almost 16) and Gannon (almost 9). They are tons of fun!! And speaking of fun…we have a TON of FUN events coming up at the Eagles! Just a brief summary… March 4th & 5th – 2nd Annual Winter Fest. All proceeds will go to the Michael Holmer Scholarship Foundation and to the American Diabetes Association. Activities include, Saturday morning 9-11am pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausages and orange juice. Free will donation. Also, Bloody Mary’s in the bar from 9-11am. A Snowmobile Run, and Golfing on the River (YES, golfing! In the winter!) How do we keep track of that little white ball in the snow?? WE DON’T!! We use tennis balls…much easier! Following these activities, we will have an outdoor bar and grill to complete the afternoon and evening. Those of you that are not interested in any of the activities, please stop down and let us make you breakfast! The pancake breakfast and the evening grilling are open to anyone! In the evening, stop down and grab a brat, ¼ lb hotdog or some homemade chili. A steal at $3.00!! Call me with any questions regarding the 2nd Annual Winter Fest. The events following will be Mardi Gras on March 8th. FUN FUN FUN!! Dance to Cathy Erickson in the hall, play progressive bar bingo, enjoy fun drink specials in the bar, and southern Louisiana-style food!! The following week is St. Patrick’s Day, the 17th. Try your “luck” at bar bingo, enjoy great drink specials, green beer (of course!), and a little Irish food. Also in March, we are planning to have our “Winter Backyard BBQ” (YUM!!), and the entertainment for that night will be like no other!! A Drag Queen Contest!! If nothing else, come to support these fine men who are there to put it all out there! Watch our website, Facebook, the radiogram, newspaper, or give us a call for more information!! A date will be set soon!! The Eagles is a busy place!! Stop in and enjoy the many things that we have going on. Or to say “Hi” to me!! And by all means, if you have ANY questions, concerns, input, etc…please, please, please don’t be shy. I am always open to listening to whatever you may have to say. If I can improve the club, or myself by gaining the knowledge of someone else, I am all ears. This isn’t just my club, it’s yours. Every one of you is a piece to the puzzle. We all need each other to make it complete!

In closing, I need to say a huge “Thank You”… To the trustees for having faith in me!To Ruth for everything she has done, and for having patience. To the amazing staff that I have the pleasure of working along side. We’ve got an incredible crew here right now, and they have really stepped up and held things together this past month. I am very fortunate to have them, and they must know that they are never allowed to quit! And last but not least, and most importantly…“Thank You” to YOU, our members and customers for hanging on. For continuing to support us and for not letting a little bump in the road get in the way of supporting the club that we all love. We are the same club that we’ve always been, but with a few improvements!!! Keep supporting us, we need you!!

(Uffda…did I really write all that??)I hope to see you all at the upcoming events!!

THINK SPRING!! ~Taryn~

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems,
but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. -

a small boy swallowed some coins and was taken to the hospital. When his grandmother called to ask how he was the nurse said “no change yet!”

If you don’t pay your dues and are dropped you lose your years of service. Also in the auxiliary if you are now a beneficial member and drop you lose your benefits. You can not get them back when you rejoin. The memorial fund now includes your step-children. Make sure your children’s health, dental and educational needs are met. For the cost of your dues you are covering them and you can’t buy that kind of insurance for that small amount of money. Don’t make them use their life insurance for that. Want to know more. Contact the Aerie President or Auxiliary secretary for any questions.

My young grandson called the other day to wish me HappyBirthday. He asked me how old I was, and I told him, 62. My grandson was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, "Did you start at 1?"

Thanks to all who bought raffle tickets from the Eagles Auxiliary for the quilt. You helped us donate $200 each to Alzheimers, MN Autism and Diabetes Research.

While shopping for vacation clothes my husband and I passed a display of bathing suits. It had been 10 years and 20 pounds since I had even considered buying a bathing suit, so I sought my husband’s advice. “What do you think?’ I asked. ‘Should I get the bikini or an all-in-one?” “Better get the bikini’ he replied. ‘You’d never get it all in one.”

He’s still in intensive care.

A grasshopper walks into a bar and says he wants a drink. The bartender laughs and says. Hey we have a drink named after you. The grasshopper looks at him and says. You Have a drink named STEVE!!!

Mom’s Day May 8th.

Hug your mom today

We all get heavier as we get older because there’s alot more information in our heads. So I’m not really fat I’m just really intelligent and my head couldn’t hold any more so it started filling up the rest of me.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied,"I'm not sure..." "Look in your underwear, Grandpa," he advised, "mine says
I'm 4 to 6..

Why is a Car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rear view Mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on

A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion

It is hard to find a joke today without a dirty word or two in it,but, here is one:Two tall trees, a birch and a beech, are growing in the woods. A small tree begins to grow between them, and the beech says to the birch,"Is that a son of a beech or a son of a birch?"The birch says he cannot tell. Just then a woodpecker lands on the sapling. The birch says, "Woodpecker, you are a tree expert. Can you tell if that is a son of a beech or a son of a birch?"The woodpecker takes a taste of the small tree. He replies, "It is neither a son of a beech nor a son of a birch. It is, however, the best piece of ash I have ever put my pecker in."

TODAY IS THE OLDEST YOU'VE EVER BEEN, YET IT'S THE YOUNGEST YOU'LL EVER BE,
SO ENJOY THIS DAY WHILE IT LASTS

You know your getting old when people say you look "Great"... they add "for your age!"

Grandpa is the smartest man on earth! He teaches me good good things, but I don't get to see him enough to get as smart as him!
