Our sympathies to their family

sung to “MY Favorite Things” tune

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,

Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,

Bundles of magazines tied up in string,

These are a few of my favorite things

Cadillac's and cataracts, and hearing aids and glasses,

Polident and Fixodent and false teeth and glasses,

Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,

These are a few of my favorite things

When the pipes leak,

When the bones creak,

When the knees go bad,

I simply remember my favorite things,

And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,

No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,

Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,

These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pains, confused brains, and no need for sinnin',

Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',

And we won't mention our short, shrunken frames,

When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache,

When the hips break,

When the eyes grow dim,

Then I remember the great life I've had,

And then I don't feel so

I want to wish you all a Happy Christmas Season.  Membership is the lifeblood of any fraternal organization.  Without a constant renewal the Eagles can dwindle and die.  Sign up anyone you feel lives up to our ideals of Family, Country, God and Brotherhood of man.  We are ‘people helping people‘.

Hi brothers, here I am behind again on my letter. Here its November already I hope all of you deer hunters had some good shooting and safe season. Our party didn't shoot much but a good time was had by all. My last letter we were getting ready for our picnic and Back yard BBQ. The picnic was held at the club for the first time in a while we had a great turnout. The next day was our BBQ and thanks to all of the volunteers this would never happen without all their help. With winter just around the corner it’s time to get all our warm clothes out which I know everybody loves. Be extra careful for the slippery roads and sidewalks. December 5 Santa will be at the club so bring the kids down to see him. There will be a dart league on Mondays starting up you can get ahold of Ken at the bar for more info. Don’t forget to stop up and play some bingo or have drink and see what’s going on at the club it's great to see everyone come and have a good time. Let’s keep up on our dues it really helps the club save some money and then you get your drink card. until next time

What better a christmas gift than one that keeps on giving.  Ask an Aux Officer about buying a T-Shirt for Cancer

Hello Sisters,

The summer went by so fast and we are looking at the beginning of the holiday season. Can’t believe it’s upon us. The Auxiliary is having their Christmas party on Dec 7th. Kay is again making the meat and potatoes and gravy. We ask you bring something to share with us to go along with the meal and an item to give to the food shelf. Come join us for some fun. We will visit and maybe play a game or two. There is also going to be a Santa and movies for the kids on Dec 5th since there will not be the holiday tree walk this year. Hopefully that will be back next year. January meetings will continue as usual. Please attend and help us keep this awesome auxiliary keeping on. Our membership quota is 12 this year and we have 4 to date. This holiday Season is a perfect time to give that someone special a gift of membership. February is always cold but we hope the weather cooperates for our meetings. We are planning a campaign to purchase gas cards we can give to people traveling for cancer treatments. We will be selling T-shirts with the purple ribbon since it symbolizes all cancers. ALL proceeds will go to purchase these gas cards. This isn’t a fundraiser, it’s a community service. Anyone interested in purchasing these shirts can call Kay at 689-8367 or one of the officers. We are taking orders so we don’t have any overhead. We can order every 2 weeks if we like. Please think about giving these for Christmas. Cost of the T’s will range from $12.00 to $18.00. This will give a $5 profit from each shirt to the cancer gas cards. You can use this as a tax deduction too. The checks should be made out to TRF Eagles Aux – Cancer project. Thanks. If you don’t want the shirt but want to make a donation that is acceptable too. This will be an ongoing project.

Again we are the best kept secret with doing projects like this. Come help us keep up the good work.

Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year.

Your president – Michelle Hunt

From the Secy. Office.
Greetings to all Bro & Sister Eagles. You know the summer has already slipped by us. So first thing you know the New Year will be here. If you haven't book your parties, call our Mgr. Ken and have him write it done so you can get the day you want. It really doesn’t matter if it is a Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary or whatever you want - if the date is available you can get it.
The weather sure is nice right now, but it can change in a hurry so take advantage of it and enjoy. Christmas is right around the corner so if at all possible see if there are any clothes lying around that maybe a needing family could use. Take them someplace in town where they take care of people who are less fortunate then some of us. This small donation you make may at Christmastime make them Happy. Thank you for using our club for any benefits which may come up, we are willing to let you use it providing we don't have something going. In closing from all of us here at the Eagles we wish you all A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. Drive safe thru the holidays and enjoy the winter months as much as you can. For all you SNOW BIRDS that go down south for the winter, don't forget to pay your dues before you leave so you keep up your membership in good standing. Until next guide keep paying your dues and don't forget to come on down to the club and meet a friend or two and have some refreshments.

Thanks again Emil Vanyo Secy

From the secretary/membership chair.

Please remember to pay your dues on time. I know I have been slow at sending out notices. Right now look at your membership card and see when your dues are due and then make out that check (for the same amount shown on your card) and drop it in the mail. You can pay for more than one year too if you would like. I think Michelle mentioned our new project. We are very excited about this project. We all know someone who has or is suffering from some form of cancer. They have so many bills related to it that we thought this would help take some of the strain off them. We will be contacting the treatment centers and having them give our names for contact to get help.

Our Christmas meal and get together is Dec 7th. I will be making Chicken and meatballs. Gravy. Some of the ladies indicated they are bringing veg trays, cranberry dessert, bread, butter and pickles and olives. Bring something to share. It will be a social evening and fun.

We will be having our 60th anniversary in March so look forward to that. There are just 2 charter members left. We will be inviting the State President so would like a good turnout. April 26th  6:30 supper for all members - 7:30 Anniversary

so please mark that down on your calendar and call for reservations.

Have a great winter and Merry Christmas.

Kay Nelson - Secretary and Membership Chairman  689-8367
